How Did Sunlight Assisted Living Start?
A family-founded initiative born out of a personal journey in caring for our beloved grandmother, who lived with dementia for 10 years.
Our caregiving journey made us witness first-hand the emotional, mental, and physical challenges that both seniors and their families face — especially when dementia sets in. During the COVID-19 pandemic, isolation and lack of social activities accelerated our grandmother’s condition, leading to her passing in 2023. That painful experience made us realize a critical gap in the support available for seniors and their caregivers in Singapore.
Out of that realization, Sunlight Assisted Living was founded — with a mission to create a safe, vibrant community where seniors, especially those battling dementia, can continue to live with joy, dignity, and purpose.
Today, we are taking this mission a step further. We are working towards establishing the Sunlight Active Ageing Center — a purpose-built community hub focused on innovative dementia care, active ageing, and social connection for seniors.
